Dear House Helper: My hardwood floors are becoming severely scratched. How can I fix that and what can I do to protect them in the future? Eventually all hardwood floors will need to be refinished. Unless you ahve some experience, this is really a job for a professional. Rental centers have sanders and buffers available but it is easy to damage hardwood floors with these powerful machines.
